Psalm 23

*  This great PROCLAMATION: ‘The Lord is my Shepherd’ John 10:26-30. Being a sheep of the flock means being a committed follower of Jesus.

* This DECLARATION: ‘I shall not want.’ Everything that I need, my Shepherd’ will supply.

* The EXPLANATION: ‘He makes me lie down …He leads me beside . . . He restores . . . He leads me in paths . . .’

* The ANTICIPATION: ‘Even though I walk through the valley . . . comfort me’ Isa 43:1-2. No one is afraid of a shadow.

* The EXPECTATION: ‘You prepare a table . . . my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy . . . And I will dwell . . . for ever.’
