Hebrews 10:19-31
1. A THING TO CONSIDER
(V. 24) Let us consider one another to provoke unto love and good works.
Our job is to stir up our brothers and sisters to love and good works. This is how a church system works. Consider how useless a Christian is without a church to stir up in love.
How are we going to do this? Please refer to below follow up by the author.
2. A THING TO ATTEND
(V. 25) ...not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more, as ye see the day drawing nigh.
This is not just about attending regularly, but the "why" behind it. As much as attendance itself is essential, it is also needed in order to know one another well enough to encourage them well.
It is being in an active participation in one another's lives, to minister to them not just on a Sunday.
3. A THING TO FEAR
(V. 26) ...for if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment...
This warning is targeting the believers. The reason is because through these warnings are true believers kept and sustained from continuous and willful sinning. The church is God's means for our perseverance.
So let us consider how to stir one another up in love and good works.
