The steadfast and sure anchor of the soul

Being a Christian in this hostile world  means that we will continually  face various difficulties. Matt 18:21-25 Matt 5:10-12 John 15:18-21
Not just for the disciples of Jesus’ day. 2Tim 3:10-12 Acts 14:21-22 Through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God, because we live among a people who do not share our love for Jesus and our desire for His glory. The crucified Christ is an offence to the world. Gal 5:11 2Pet 1:3-4 Heb 6 v 13-20

WHY THIS PROMISE IS SUCH AN ANCHOR People sometimes make promises, which they do not keep. But God is always true to His promise. It is impossible for God to lie. Two unchangeable things, His promise (Gen 22:17-18) and His oath (swore by Himself Gen 22:16) |
HOW THIS PROMISE AFFECTS US Heb 6 v 18-20  This promise embraces all the elect of God throughout history. Gen 22:18  Rev 7:7, 9-10
We have an anchor that keeps the soul.
