VISION THAT JOHN SAW

#AFFIRMATION OF JESUS Vs 17-18 After the vision, John hears the familiar voice saying, ‘Don’t be afraid.’ We should continually crave to hear the voice of God speak to our soul. This is not unique to John. It is the legacy left to all God’s children. #APPAREL OF JESUS Vs 13 The book of Revelation is a picture book full of symbolic teaching. Jesus was clothed with a long robe reaching down to His feet and with a golden sash around His chest. His apparel is simple and majestic. Why is Jesus dressed like this? Why does the Holy Spirit record this for us? In the tabernacle/temple, we find the high priest dressed like this Heb 4:14 Jesus appears as the High Priest of the churches.  Ex 29:4 There is much detail in that Old Testament robe, but here Jesus appears simply. He is in the midst of us in His majesty and love, in our midst in the house of God. #APPEARANCE OF JESUS Vs 14-16 John’s vision of Jesus is amazing.  *HAIR is pure white (not white hair of old age but of purity Isa 1: 18). On the cross, with the crown of thorns, His bloodied head was not a pretty picture with our sin laid on Him. But now He appears in purity),   *EYES like fire. Prov 15:3  Eyes that penetrate and see all.  *FEET like burnished bronze refined in the furnace. Had to go through the furnace for us. He had suffered at the hands of a holy God, the feet of One who can carry His church through the furnaces of affliction. 1 Cor 15:25.  *VOICE was like the roar of many waters  drowning out all other sound. Reminds us of the time that voice called us, and we heard it above all other voices and noises.  Like the hymn writer put it, “I heard the voice of Jesus say / Come unto Me and rest.”  *MOUTH has a sharp double edged sword coming out of it. What does this mean. The sword is the word of God.Eph 6:17, Heb 4:12. Do we look for warm fuzzy words in the Bible? But the Lord wants His word to refine us and make us grow in Him.

FACE like the sun. One day every eye will see Him.  ||||||  Do you know this Jesus? Have you seen Him by faith? Have you heard Him? Turn your eyes upon Jesus, / Look full in His wonderful face / And the things of earth will grow strangely dim / In the light of His glory and grace.”
