Why the Resurrection Matters

Swayed by the culture of the day and Greco-Roman philosophy, some Christians in the Corinthian church did not believe in the bodily resurrection of people on the last day. They would have believed in the immortality of the soul, but they could not accept that the bodies of people will be raised to life. At the same time, they seemed to have no problem believing that Jesus rose on the third day, because it had come to them as part of the gospel preached. Paul wanted to call out this inconsistency, because he knew that the two resurrections stand or fall together.
The sermon has the following four subheadings.
1. The Gospel Reminded,
2. The Truthfulness of the Resurrection of Christ,
3. The Two resurrections Stand or Fall Together
4. Why the Resurrection of Christ is Good News
