TRUSTING IN GOD

We live in a fallen world, and we struggle with many aspects of life, just as the generations before have done. What is it that each of us struggles with most of all? What causes us most concern? Assuming that we have zeroed in on the answer, which would be different for each of us, how now are we going to deal with the problem? The text before us will help us deal with the problem. TRUST IN THE LORD WITH ALL YOUR HEART AND DO NOT LEAN ON YOUR OWN UNDERSTANDING. IN ALL YOUR WAYS ACKNOWLEDGE HIM, AND HE WILL MAKE STRAIGHT YOUR PATHS. Here are a bunch of four keys that will open the door to joy in our lives. |||||| PROCLAMATION TO ASPIRE TO (Trust in the Lord with all your heart.) It is a proclamation from God’s heart to ours. Have confidence in Christ; feel safe in Christ; be rested; have peace of mind; be secure in God. This trust always begins at the foot of the old rugged cross. Trusting Jesus is easy when everything is rosy, when all is well in the family and in the workplace. It is much harder when things don’t  seem to be working out. Remember Job and the time when he heard the reports of bad news, all at once. But we know that Job’s reaction was to worship, and to take his troubles to His God. “Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him,” Job declared.  |||||| PRACTICE TO ADOPT (In all your ways acknowledge Him.) We need to seek His will in all we do. To do what someone wants, we need to find out what they want. So we need to  seek to know what the Lord wants. We have to learn to practice this in EVERYTHING, not just in some things. In whatever thing we are dealing with in life, we must talk to the Lord about it. |||||| PITFALL TO AVOID (Lean not on your own understanding.) Our own foolish wisdom is a great barrier. This is us thinking that we know better than God. Back in Genesis, we see how this very thing caused humanity so much grief.   Eve considered her wisdom to be greater than God’s command, and she ate of the fruit. We must not lean on our wisdom, but look to God. 2Pet 1:3, 2Tim 3:16-17.  |||||| PROMISE TO APPLY (He will make straight your path.) He will show you the path to take. A promise is of no value unless it is believed and applied. “Come to my house tomorrow night and I will give you 1000 dollars.” First we must believe this and go to the house, if we have to benefit. Faith is an action word. Truth unapplied is truth denied. Most people love the promise, but they do not act on the proclamation, to trust in Him in everything.  |||||| This is the course for life. We have this wonderful option before us daily. What are our problems, what are our fears. Let us stop going on our own way and trust God with them all, and He will show us the path to take.
