Consider the Apostle and High Priest, Christ Jesus

Consider the Apostle and High Priest, Christ Jesus
Heb 3: 1-
1 Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus, 2 who was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as Moses also was faithful in all His house. 3 For this One has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as He who built the house has more honor than the house. 4 For every house is built by someone, but He who built all things is God. 5 And Moses indeed was faithful in all His house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which would be spoken afterward, 6 but Christ as a Son over His own house, whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end.
"Therefore, holy brethren.."
During the time Hebrews was written, the Church was under great considerable amount of persecution. For Christian sufferings are necessary path to defeat the devil. In the text, the author addressed the Christians, "holy brethren". They are holy not because of their righteous disposition nor they are better than the others. They were not set apart due to their ethnicity but by the Lord Jesus. Jesus is God's last resort. last revelation of God and the fulfillment of God's seed.
If Abraham is known as the father of all nations, Moses was recognised to be the founder and architect of God's people. Moses committed himself to God. In Hebrews 11 says,
23 By faith Moses, when he was born, was hidden three months by his parents, because they saw he was a beautiful child; and they were not afraid of the king’s command.
24 By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, 25 choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, 26 esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward.
27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible. 28 By faith he kept the Passover and the sprinkling of blood, lest he who destroyed the firstborn should touch them.
29 By faith they passed through the Red Sea as by dry land, whereas the Egyptians, attempting to do so, were drowned.
Moses shown unshakeable obedience to God. He was meek and humble. When others were growling and complaining of their plight, Moses's faithfulness to God and God's direction, pulled him though.
BUT JESUS CHRIST was counted more glory than Moses v3.
Jesus is the Apostle and High Priest of our profession. He endured the suffering to bear our sins. Jesus said in John 6:38, "38 For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me." In John 8:29, "The one who sent me is with me; he has not left me alone, for I always do what pleases him.”
Are you being the means to bring the promise of the Redeemer?
1 Peter 2:9 "But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light."
Partakers of a heavenly calling
The reason why we are set apart. We are called to conform in the image of God's Son. We are called to demonstrate obedience, show meekness and humility, We are called to consider Christ - to witness of what God has done to His Son.
Under the power of this world, the evil one is real and formidable, and persecution is around, we are in constant subject to the residue of our sinful nature.
To the persecuted Christian, do you go to counselling or do you move away from suffering?
CONSIDER CHRIST!
The faith given to us is not a mindless mechanical of inevitability. Place the Law of God in your heart. Jesus came to aid our needs, ALL our needs. He is faithful. We may look at Israel but never forget that God is our Builder. The nature of God's kingdom is built around Christ's Kingdom whose Jesus is the Builder. Revelation 7:10 And they cried out in a loud voice:
“Salvation belongs to our God,
who sits on the throne,
and to the Lamb.”
HOPE in HIM.
In the midst of suffering, we have to boast because we belong to the Christ's Kingdom. Psalm 145:13, Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations. The Lord is trustworthy in all He promises and faithful in all He does.
WHOM SHALL I FEAR?
Psalm 27
The Lord is my light and my salvation—
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life—
of whom shall I be afraid?
2 When the wicked advance against me
to devour me,
it is my enemies and my foes
who will stumble and fall.
3 Though an army besiege me,
my heart will not fear;
though war break out against me,
even then I will be confident.
4 One thing I ask from the Lord,
this only do I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to gaze on the beauty of the Lord
and to seek him in his temple.
5 For in the day of trouble
he will keep me safe in his dwelling;
he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent
and set me high upon a rock.
6 Then my head will be exalted
above the enemies who surround me;
at his sacred tent I will sacrifice with shouts of joy;
I will sing and make music to the Lord.
7 Hear my voice when I call, Lord;
be merciful to me and answer me.
8 My heart says of you, “Seek his face!”
Your face, Lord, I will seek.
9 Do not hide your face from me,
do not turn your servant away in anger;
you have been my helper.
Do not reject me or forsake me,
God my Savior.
10 Though my father and mother forsake me,
the Lord will receive me.
11 Teach me your way, Lord;
lead me in a straight path
because of my oppressors.
12 Do not turn me over to the desire of my foes,
for false witnesses rise up against me,
spouting malicious accusations.
13 I remain confident of this:
I will see the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living.
14 Wait for the Lord;
be strong and take heart
and wait for the Lord.
