Jesus’ Ministry – Timing, Location, and Message

Looking at this passage by considering the Timing, Location, and Message of Jesus ministry. 
TIMING Vs 12 and all that went before: Everything has led to this point. From here, the Lord's ministry takes centre stage. For us who work for the Lord, we can be confident about God's timing. Partnering with Him, the great Commission done the Lord's way will always accomplish His purpose. LOCATION Vs 13-16: This area did not have a great reputation. They were the people who sat in darkness. Galilee of the Gentiles. And this, not Jerusalem, is where the Lord Jesus begins His ministry. The term 'Galilee of the nations' reminds us of the promise to Abraham. To "us" a Child is given... Isaiah 9, goes on to say, but sadly, they could not recognise Him. 
MESSAGE Vs 17: He preached the need to Repent. Repentance is a gift of God whereby our minds are illuminated by the Holy Spirit about our sin before a holy God. We are humbled and filled with self abhorrence and we confess our sin. Repentance goes hand in hand with faith in Jesus Christ. And then we turn away from sin and walk a holy life. Radical change of mind leading to a radically changed heart and in turn to a changed life. Jesus also preached that His Kingdom is near. His Kingdom grows as hearts are changed. Evidence of the kingdom of Jesus is the church. From Capernaum to Clendon, the gospel is the same. We plead with people to come to King Jesus. Let us not doubt that Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Let us trust Him to work and grow His kingdom.
